Fairfax presentation to analysts and institutional investors and statement on cost management SYDNEY, December 13, 2001 – Mr. Fred Hilmer, CEO, John Fairfax
Holdings Limited [ASX:FXJ], Mr. Mark Bayliss, Chief Financial Officer, Mr Peter Graham, Director of Group Operations, Mr. Alan Revell,
Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Herald Publications, and Mr. Michael Gill, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Fairfax Business Media, made a
presentation this afternoon to analysts and institutional investors on their
overall business operations. At the conclusion of the presentation, Mr. Hilmer made the following statement regarding the company’s cost management: “As a result of the company’s initiatives on costs over the past year, we have substantially offset the inflation in the cost base. We therefore will record an absolute reduction in our costs in the first half of the 2002 financial year over the previous corresponding period.” -- ENDS -- |
