A N N O U N C E M E N T John Fairfax Holdings Limited today announced that Sir Roger Douglas has resigned from the Board of Directors. The Board thanks Sir Roger for his considerable contribution to the Company and the Board over the last two years. Sir Roger joined the Board on 20 December, 1996 as a nominee of Brierley Investments Limited ("BIL") which then had an interest in approximately 19.9% of the Company’s shares. Sir Roger now resigns following confirmation of the sale by BIL of 116,940,885 Fairfax shares as part of the proposed sale and buy-back announced on 10 December, 1998. 21 December, 1998 |
