on the NRMA v John Fairfax Publications decision

-Mr Fred Hilmer, Chief Executive of John Fairfax Holdings Limited issued the following statement in response to the NSW Supreme Court decision handed down today in NRMA v John Fairfax Publications.
The decision orders journalists to Court to be questioned on the identity of confidential sources of information.
"Fairfax is very disappointed with this decision and will be lodging an appeal. The protection of sources is fundamental to effective investigative journalism and the free flow of information in an open society.
We fully stand by our journalists on this important issue."
