Fairfax denies bid for UK Publisher: Regional Independent Media Group SYDNEY, November 3, 2000 - John Fairfax Holdings Limited [ASX:FXJ] today denied media speculation in the UK that the Company was interested in bidding for Regional Independent Media Group plc. Mr. Bruce Wolpe, Manager, Corporate Affairs for Fairfax, said: "The opportunity was offered to us, and we declined to pursue it. Fairfax is not considering a bid for the company." - ENDS -
