SYDNEY, November 9, 2000 - John Fairfax Holdings Limited [ASX:FXJ] today issued the following statement in response to media reports regarding f2 Limited:

"Fairfax is well positioned as the markets enter what we believe will be a period of industry consolidation. Fairfax has had, and continues to have, discussions with a number of industry players, with a view to building our investment and focusing our strategy. We have nothing to report on these discussions. Any significant developments will be reported promptly to the markets."
