F2 LAUNCHES EXECUTIVE DRIVE, A BROADBAND SECTION OF DRIVE.COM.AU, AT SYDNEY MOTOR SHOW Sydney, Thursday, October 14, 1999: On Friday, October 15th, F2 will launch Executive Drive, a broadband section of drive.com.au, Australia’s leading automotive web site. Executive Drive is the first automotive site in Australia to feature a test drive section optimised for broadband. The launch coincides with the opening of one of the major events on the Sydney car calender, the popular Sydney Motor Show, and will feature video reports of the latest news and action from Darling Harbour. Motoring video news and video test drives will be presented by the voice of Australian motoring, Phil Scott, motoring editor of the Sydney Morning Herald, and The Financial Review’s Michael Stahl. Executive Drive will also link to text articles about the featured car or other relevant motoring news stories. According to Dean Gingell, Managing Director, Fairfax Online, "drive.com.au is once again leading the industry with the introduction of the Executive Drive broadband segment. It is tailor-made for the executive user to save them time and keep them informed. Video test drives on the latest high-end cars make it easy to see the latest luxury vehicles without even having to leave your desk." Each week, Executive Drive will feature a video test drive of a particular luxury car, sports car, or four wheel drive. The video stories will then be available in an archive section of the site. The video is available to 56k and T1/LAN users, but is optimised for subscribers to Telstra Big Pond Advance. Executive Drive to be demonstrated the 1999 Sydney Motor Show The new Executive Drive broadband section will be demonstrated using Telstra Big Pond Advance at this year’s Sydney Motor Show.
