David Shein resigns from the Fairfax Board SYDNEY, 19 September, 2001 Mr. Brian Powers, Chairman of the Board of John Fairfax Holdings Limited [ASX:FXJ] announced that Mr. David Shein, a non-executivedirector of the Company since 1998, has resigned from the Board on 18 September, 2001. Mr. Powers said, "David has made a tremendous contribution to every aspect of ourwork, and we will miss his judgement and expertise." Mr. Powers said that the Board has resolved in accordance with the Company's Constitution not to replace Mr. Shein and to reduce the maximum size of the Fairfax Board from nine (9) to eight (8). -- ENDS –
